[20 Jun 2009|03:23pm] So this past week has been nuts. Over the weekend I was in Reno producing/co-directing these commercials for a property called Boomtown. Really small place with simple concepts for commercials, but they should turn out pretty good. Supposed to have rough cuts by the 1st of July, so I'll be sure to post those up. I've also been shooting stills for a local magazine that just started up and published their first issue in June. I shot 9 setups for the fashion spread downtown where I shot Tara the other week, that was a loooong 9 hour night after driving back from Reno the day before. Some good images came out of that, those will be up soon. Then yesterday morning was something I had been looking forward to since I got the call to book it. I went up a mere 11 floors to shoot a long time poker inspiration of mine Antonio Esfandiari. The shoot went really well, he had overslept, so we went in as soon as he woke up, and shot him starting his day, he has a no drinking las longer bet, but you could have fooled me, the guy looked haggard. We got some really rad stuff, more Terry Richardson style, real voyeur and dirty. Then he cleaned up and we did some more stuff for the actual feature article. Everything went pretty well, I would have liked a little more time and support, but we had to move quick, so I made do. Those images should all be edited in the next couple days, so I'll post up some previews of those. At the end Antonio asked what the cover would be, and really lobbied with the editor to be the cover story, so they're talking about modifying the concept of the issue to make his story the cover story. That would be rad as my first shoot for a legitimate magazine would actually make the cover. So keep your fingers crossed. For now, here's the obligatory, can I take a picture with you and send it to my mom cuz she would kill me if I didn't shot. [13 Nov 2008|08:26pm] This weeks rerun of poker after dark is hilariously sad. The burn out old schoolers of NLHE. So NOT interesting to watch, there really is something to say about TV pros VS old school pros. Congrats to Peter Eastgate.... pretty cool that someone broke Hellmuth's record, its gotta be tough for him to see that crushed, but Eastgate is a great player, and so is Demidov, one of the better heads up the WSOP ME has seen in a long time. I've never felt like I could be pushed to the point of quitting a job before today, now I know what that feels like. All time worst work day ever. This week's travel was pretty fun tho, good times hanging out with agency people, met cool new people, and got to see my friend Ben that I hadn't seen since 2000. Next week should be interesting. Still can't wait for thanksgiving. Like Mother Like Daughter
